UDINUS REPRESENTS JATENG TO THE NATIONAL MAWAPRES
Through the selection process, Kurniaji Wahid Solihin succeeded be the 2nd winner of the election of Outstanding Student (Mawapres) in the Coordinator of Private Higher Education (Kopertis) VI of Central Java Region level on Tuesday, April 18th 2017. Kurniaji is a student of Industrial Engineering of Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus).
In the selection of Kopertis VI level, there are 4 main assessment aspects namely the GPA score, the ability to speak English, the scientific work and achievements including the journals and books. Kurniaji represents the Udinus to compete 18 other universities in the selection. “There are 2 books, 2 journals and 1 international conference for now. All the writing was the cooperation with lecturers of the Faculty of Engineering," explained Kurniaji. He has achieved an international achievement, Gold Medal in the 11th Asean Skills Competition 2016 in the Mechanical Engineering Design (MED) category in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
Being a prestigious Mawapres is a wish for every student. Tis is an annual program of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristek Dikti). They are selected hundreds or even thousands of outstanding students in academic and non-academic from all over the country. Kurniaji and 5 other students are eligible to Mawapres national level in July. "Last year, 15 students were invited to the national Mawapres. I hoped I am the one of them, "he said.
"We are proud to represent Central Java for the national Mawapres. Kurniaji is one of the outstanding students," said Dr. Kusni Ingsih, M.M. as Vice Rector III for Student Affairs. Udinus strongly supports their students by providing scholarships. For international championship, Udinus will give the outstanding student the scholarship until graduate. "This scholarship is exclusively issued by the campus," added Kusni. (* PR)
