CURRENT INNOVATION IN UDINUS CREANOVATION AWARDS 2017
Faculty of Engineering (FT) Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) successfully held Creanovation Awards 2017 in the 3rd floor of building E on May 6th 2017. Creanovation Awards is an annual Udinus’ event that has purpose to look for creativity and innovation of high school (SMA) or vocational school (SMK) students. With the theme "Be Creative, Be Innovative, Be Smart", many teams were participated in this event and in the end there are 35 the best team. "After the judging on March 13th, 35 teams we announced to be finalists on March 19th," said Gutama Indra Gandha M. Eng, the chairman of committee. Selected team was invited to Udinus to bring their prototype or product to present it before three juries. The juries were Rindra Yusianto, MT, Godham Eko Saputro, S.Sn., M.DS and Supriyono Asfawi SE., M.Kes. The assessment criteria were ideas’ originality and novelty, proposed argumentation, the linkages between material and theme, writing compositions, and writing aesthetic.
The competition was divided into several categories namely food products, tools, games, green technology etc. It will select three winners in each category and the best team has opportunity to bring home the Rector Trophy. There will be continued coaching for the best teams that have innovative products. "If the students continue their study to Udinus, their ideas or products from Creanova can be PKM (Student Creativity Program) to get into into Pimnas," added Gutama.
From year to year, the participants of Creanovation Awards are always increasing. The participants in the Grand final came from several islands such as Sulawesi, Kalimantan (Boneo), Sumatra and Java. In front of dozens of finalists from senior high school, Udinus’ Rector encouraged the participants to enter the entrepreneurial world with their innovation products and creativity from the event. "Entrepreneurship is the breath of creativity and innovation. Indonesia is a country that has big opportunity in entrepreneurship of technological development "said Prof. Dr. Ir Edi Noersasongko M.Kom.
At the end of the event, the participants from SMKN 2 Semarang won the 1st place with their work of “Water Oven New Innovation (WONT)”. SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Babat won the 2nd place with their work of "Coco Partition Floor". The 3rd place was SMA Nusantara Gresik with the work "G-Slug". Each participant received trophies, certificates, coaching money and deductions of building fee.
